Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

November 15, 2007 · Print This Article

I was trying to show my friend a good time when she came to visit and I wanted to take her to something other than a casino (we’re not huge gamblers). So when we were wandering Mandalay Bay I said that we should check out Shark Reef. It’s a really cool place with over 2000 animals including sea turtles, manta rays, and several types of sharks. You are surrounded by their habitats, and are given headphones guiding you through the exhibit. Along

with educating you about animals, Shark Reef helps teach about conservation. There are several programs for classes if you are a teacher looking to take your class. It’s a great thing to take the kids to if you’re visiting and fun to wander through if you are an adult.

Open daily from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Last admission at 10 p.m.

Admission: Adults $15.95, Children 12 years old and younger $10.95, Children 4 and younger admitted free.

On November 16-20, a daily web-travel series will be coming through Las Vegas. It’s one of many stops on a two month roadtrip, called The Smart Show. While we already know and love the famous landmarks in Vegas, we’re on a mission to find out what’s “smart” about Vegas…something unusual and off-the beaten path. We’d love to get some insider tips on what makes the city so great.

We’re trying to get the word out as much as possible, so if you have any advice for us, you can email thesmartshow1@gmail.com or visit http://iw.rtm.com/thesmartshow/splash.asp?ref= and tell us where to go and what to see. We appreciate any wisdom you could impart.

    Thanks!
    Kati
