Rumjungle files bankruptcy

Rumjungle, the nightclub at Mandalay Bay, has filed for bankruptcy.

In addition to owing $1.1 million rent to the hotel-casino, Rumjungle plus claims that they have a contract stating Mandalay Bay allowed them to be the sole nightclub in the casino. Two years ago, Mandalay converted

their center bar to a nightclub/bar hybrid called eyecandy, which Rumjungle claims violates their agreement.

Rumjungle has done many things to stave off bankruptcy — including serving lunch — but revenue has dropped 40 percent each year since 2007.
