McCarren universal Airport’s Lost Passengers

Southwest Airlines is the #1 carrier for Las Vegas

Clark County station of Aviation is reporting a 9.8% drop in passenger counts at McCarren worldly Airport during August. August 2008 saw nearly 4 million passengers while August 2009 tallied closer to 3.5 million flyers.

McCarren’s No.1 carrier, Southwest Airlines, showed a 4.1% drop while the No. 2 carrier, US Airways, suffered a 34.6% drop in passengers from the same period last year. US Airways has canceled many of its scheduled flights into and out of McCarren as a aftermath of the economic problems and rising fuel costs which helps explanation for the plummet in traffic. No. 5 carrier, American Airlines, had a 4.9% increase in passengers.

Airport traffic is probably one of the factors considered
