Hard Rock poker room to shrink

July 29, 2010 · Print This Article

Less than 2 years ago, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino opened their new, swanky $10 million poker lounge with 18 tables, investing heavily into poker when many other casinos were downsizing after poker's popularity had peaked. Turns

out it may have been a poor investment. Hard Rock will soon be closing its poker lounge, though they'll still keep a poker room by moving 6-8 tables elsewhere in the casino. No word yet on what the space will be used for. We'd immediately guess slot machines, but it lends itself to a bar/restaurant.
